Northampton Sixth Grade Basketball Wins Eastern Shore District Middle School Title

The Northampton Bulls middle sixth grade team concluded their season with a flawless 6-0 record and secured the Eastern Shore District Middle School championship Wednesday night after defeating Nandua.

The boys began the season with a win over Chincoteague, 37-2, Jan. 7. Na’Rod Jarvis led at the net with 12 points.

On Jan. 9, they collected win No. 2 for the year over Arcadia. JaQuan Myrick led the Bulls this go-round, potting 8 points and 7 steals.

Another win came for the Bulls when they edged out Chincoteague Jan. 16 to move to a 3-0 record.

Jan. 18 marked the fourth win in the books for the Bulls, claiming another W in their record book as they topped Nandua.

Tuesday night, the boys faced Arcadia, and topped the district rivals again, this time by a 34-10 count, then went on to grab the district title and sweep the board with their final win over Nandua.

The Northampton seventh and eighth grade middle school team opened the season with a 59-17 win over Chincoteague Jan. 7. Brayden Buryn had a game high of 13 points and  Braden Justice had a double double, notching 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Jan. 9, the boys fell to Arcadia, moving their season record to 1-1. Da Jour Jones potted 10 points in the loss to help lead the Bulls.

The team moved to a 2-1 record with a win over Chincoteague Jan. 16. Friday night marked a loss for the boys when they fell to Nandua, and entered Wednesday’s game in third place with a 2-3 record after suffering a loss to Arcadia on Tuesday.

Wednesday night, the boys defeated Nandua, 48-33, to set a three-way tie as to what rank they will be seeded heading into the playoffs.
