Mr. Lance Godwin Fisher Sr., 80, of Oak Hall, husband of the late Barbara Williams Fisher, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at his son’s home in Salisbury, Md.

Born June 12, 1938, in Sanford, he was a son of the late Walter Jackson Fisher Sr. and Naomi Godwin Fisher. Mr. Fisher spent his life in and around the commercial seafood business working as a commercial waterman, as owner and operator of Captain Fisher’s Seafood Company and a line of commercial trucks, served as vice president of Eastern Shore Seafood products, in Mappsville, and regularly purchased oysters. Never scared of a hard day’s labor, Mr. Fisher was dedicated to his businesses and continued to work until a month before his passing. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family and his legacy.

Survivors include his two sons, Lance G. “Lanny” Fisher Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Salisbury, Md., and Charles S. “Chuck” Fisher and his wife, Kim, of Oak Hall; six grandchildren, Cole, Lance G. III, Trey, Laura, Megan and Caroline Fisher; brother, Phillip Fisher, of Sanford; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Fisher was predeceased by two sisters, Elsie Fedderman and Arenthia Fisher; and two brothers, Walter J. Fisher Jr. and Mark Fisher.
