Mrs. Helen Mae Birch Hopper, 92, wife of the late Clyde David Hopper and a resident of Onancock, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox. A native of Chincoteague, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Birch and the late Essie Taylor Birch Fitchett. She was a member of Drummondtown United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Constance Hopper Ward and her husband, Bernie, of Salisbury, Md.; granddaughter, Lara Whitehead and her husband, Andrew, of Salisbury; grandson, Wayne Kovacs, of New Jersey; and great-grandson, A.J. Whitehead, of Salisbury.
A graveside service was conducted Dec. 31, 2018, at Fairview Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6350 Center Dr., Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
