Ms. Cheryl Wescott Humphrey, 52, of Oak Hall, passed away on Feb. 15, 2019, due to a long battle with cancer.
Born on Dec. 22, 1966, in Salisbury, Ms. Humphrey grew up here on the Shore and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and DIY projects. Her children are what gave her motivation.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Wescott, and her brother, Patrick Wescott.
She is survived by her mother, Jo Anne Whitehurst Young and husband, Lonnie Medlin; a daughter, Amanda Humphrey and husband, David Padgett; three sons, Zachary Humphrey and wife, Maria, Ryan Humphrey, and Caleb Humphrey; five grandchildren; two nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m., from the Acts the Apostle Church in Temperanceville with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating.
Arrangements are by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.
