Ms. Lucy Carpenter Harlow, 76, a resident of Nassawadox, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox. A native of Birdsnest, she was the daughter of the late Wilton Danzel Carpenter and the late Addie Olivia Hamblin Carpenter. Ms. Harlow was retired from the Eastern Shore Community Services Board, an advocate for the arts, and enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, and interior decorating.
She is survived by three children, John Joseph Harlow III, of Cheriton, Theresa Harlow Goller and her husband, Clifford Steven, of Cheriton, and Patrick Wilton Harlow Sr. and his wife, Theresa Causey, of Ragley, La.; a sister, Joyce Carpenter Miles, of Cape Charles; and three grandchildren, Cody Spencer Goller, Matthew Tyler Harlow, and Patrick Wilton Harlow Jr.
A celebration of Ms. Harlow’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Charles Christian School, P.O. Box 30, Cape Charles, VA 23310.
