Mr. Seth W. Rux, 60, died peacefully at his home on Red Bank Creek in Marionville, on May 19, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Norfolk, Va., and grew up in Virginia Beach before moving to his beloved Eastern Shore at age 13. He graduated from Northampton Senior High School in 1977. Mr. Rux was an independent professional waterman, fisherman, and the consummate soft shell crabber. He was well respected among his peers. He liked the quote, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Mr. Rux was predeceased by his beloved parents, Rowland N. Rux, originally of Ridgefield, Conn., and Mary M. Rux, from Newton, Kan.; also his beloved nephew, Daniel Yakovleff.

He is survived by sisters Sandra Rux, of York, Maine and husband, Alan Haesche; Peg Rux, of Ashford, Conn., and husband, Nord Yakovleff; and nephew, Damon Yakovleff, of Portland, Maine, and wife Nicole Anderson and daughter, Flora Yakovleff. 

A service and celebration of Mr. Rux’s life will be Saturday, June 1, at 11 a.m., at his home at 11184 Red Bank Rd.
