Mrs. Mary Marsh Johnson, 87, of Parksley, wife of the late John A. “Jack” Johnson, passed away June 22, 2019, at her son’s home in Richmond, Va.

Born June 29, 1931, in Onley, she was the daughter of the late Jeter E. Marsh and Lillian Savage Marsh. Mrs. Johnson was a retired bookkeeper for Boggs Water & Sewage and Shore Engineering. She was the financial secretary for Zion Baptist Church for 25 years, was involved in the WMU and played piano for Sunday School. She was also a member of the Woman’s Club of Accomack County, the garden group and the choral group.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Lock (Roy), of Exmore; a son, John David Johnson (Donna), of Richmond; four grandchildren, Steven Hayden, Jordan Harrison (Jess), Luke Johnson (Christine), and Sam Johnson (Adrienne); six great-grandchildren, Ezra, Adin, Ky, Karan, Asher and Jaxson; a sister-in-law, Daphna Marsh; four nieces; and five nephews.

Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alaine Henderson and husband, Donald, and Sara Willis and husband, Berry; and two brothers, Russell Marsh and Clinton Marsh.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Andew Matthews and the Rev. John Cullop officiating. A private family interment will follow in the Parksley Cemetery.
