Mr. William Madison McClenny Jr., 79, formerly of Cape Charles, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at his home in Mechanicsville, Va.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria Morgan; five children, Robin Ayers and husband, Thomas “Kemo,” of Lynchburg, Va., William M. McClenny III and Elizabeth, of Amherst, Va., Katherine Gore and husband, Jeff, of Lynchburg, Robert McClenny and wife, Lacon, of Harrisonburg, Va., and Matthew McClenny of Richmond, Va.. He is also survived by five stepchildren: Glenn Dale and wife, Kristina of Elkins, W.Va.; Joshua Dillon and wife, Natasha, of Raleigh, N.C.; Jeremiah Dillon and wife, Jessica, of Mechanicsville; Bernie Bibb, and Bruce Edwards. He is survived by one sister, Sarah Wade, of Richmond, and nine grandchildren, Alexandra, Zachary, Harrison, Ashlin, Maya, Micah, Meredith, Jordan, and Lizzie.
Mr. McClenny attended the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams Law School, Virginia Tech, and graduated Lynchburg College in 1961. He practiced law with his father William Madison McClenny Sr. in Amherst, Va., and later in Louisa, Va.. He and Victoria, his wife, lived on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in Cape Charles from 2004 to 2011.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at noon, at his home church, Trinity Episcopal Church, at 104 Walnut Hollow Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24503. A Celebration of Life reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
