Yellow Jackets Cross-Country Earn Multiple Placings in Chincoteague

The Northampton Yellow Jackets boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Chincoteague Invitational Sept. 19 on Chincoteague.

Northampton girls had six of the top eight places and ran extremely well to win the meet, according to head coach Richard Wilfong.

Wynne Neville finished first for the Yellow Jackets. Daniela Gonzalez placed second, Jessica Killebrew was fourth, Olivia Peart placed sixth, Leslie Estrada earned a seventh-place finish, and Catherine Justice was eighth.

Eddie Mateo placed third for the Northampton boys.

The Nandua Warriors cross country team will head to Norfolk Academy tonight (Friday) and will be back Monday afternoon to host Northampton, Chincoteague, and Arcadia in the Eastern Shore Invitational in Onley.
