The Nandua Warriors shut down the Broadwater Vikings varsity volleyball team Monday night in Onley in three straight sets (25-14, 25-11, 25-13).

Leading the Warriors was Baylee Justis, who totaled 17 assists and seven digs. Leah Truitt notched six kills and three blocks. Parker Murphy contributed five kills and two assists. Maggie Bono tallied four kills and three blocks in the wins, and Emily Hunt had eight aces and two digs.

Nandua also defeated Arcadia Sept. 20 in Oak Hall in three straight sets (26-24, 25-7, 25-12). Bono led the Warriors with nine kills and four aces. Murphy had eight kills and three aces. Truitt sniped four kills and blocked two. Gena Pryor posted six digs and Necole Stravino notched five digs.

The Warriors will take on Middlesex for an away contest tonight (Friday) at 6:30 p.m.

The Vikings dropped two last week to Stonebridge on the road, 3-0, Sept. 17, and to Portsmouth Christian during a home match Sept. 18, 3-0. They are back on the court to host the Arcadia Firebirds tonight (Friday) in Exmore, beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Chincoteague picked up wins in all four of their last court battles, topping Arcadia Sept. 18, 3-2, on the island, and then Northampton in Eastville Sept. 20 in three straight sets. The girls hosted Worchester Prep Sept. 24 to earn another straight three, and finished out their streak against Windsor on the road Sept. 26 with another Ponies victory this week. Chincoteague is set to host Seaford Oct. 2 at 6:30 p.m.

The Northampton Yellow Jackets succumbed to Northumberland Sept. 21, 3-0. The girls grabbed a road win over Surry Sept. 24, 3-2, before coming home to Eastville Sept. 25 to host the Firebirds. The Yellow Jackets managed to muscle a 3-1 victory over their district rivals, with match scores of 25-16 (N), 25-9 (N), 25-22 (A), 25-19 (N).

Leading the Yellow Jackets in the win was Tajiana Trower, who had seven kills, seven digs, six assists, and five aces. Yeats James notched five kills, six digs, one ace, and one assist. Mallory Hook totaled 11 assists, two digs, one ace, and one kill. Demetria Harris Brown had nine aces. Jada Giddens tallied four digs, two assists, two aces, and one block. Ariana Wilson racked up seven digs and one assist. Yudimar Diaz earned four kills and one dig for the Yellow Jackets.

Northampton is scheduled to travel to Franklin Oct. 1 for their next match beginning at 5:30 p.m.
