Tyler “Tate” Annon, 8, of Willis Wharf, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at his home surrounded by love. He is the son of Laura Terry Annon, of Willis Wharf, and Zachary Tate Annon, of Machipongo. Tate was a third-grade student at Montessori Children’s House of Franktown.

In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his dog, Lilly; his “Grammy and Pappy,” Ann and Pete Terry, of Willis Wharf; his “Mom-Mom and Guggi,” Rhonda and George Annon, of Machipongo; his Aunt Heather Terry Lusk, Uncle Roland Lusk, and cousins Lela, Wescott and Max Lusk, of Quinby; and his Aunt Holly Annon Hubbard, Uncle Richard Hubbard, and cousins, Gibson and Palmer Hubbard, of Machipongo.

Tate was a sports enthusiast whose greatest joy was being on the field or court with his teammates. He played with heart and determination always, whether on the basketball court at Northampton County Parks and Recreation, the soccer field at Shore Soccer League, or the baseball field at Shore Little League. He earned a spot on the machine pitch All Star team in his rookie season and got two base hits and two RBIs on a broken leg.

He was loved by a village of family, friends, teachers, coaches, nurses and doctors, and he will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

A service will be conducted Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Franktown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alex Joyner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tate’s honor to Shore Little League, P.O. Box 915, Nassawadox, VA 23413.
