The process of hiring the Eastern Shore Community College’s (ESCC) next permanent president has begun, according to a letter that was emailed to school workers Wednesday.
“Next week, our national search will launch formally with advertisements and other recruitment activities,” wrote Glenn DuBois, Chancellor of Virginia’s Community Colleges. “I expect the process to conclude by the end of the spring semester.”
“With the strong support of your local college board chair and co-chair, we are using the information gathered during visits of the Virginia Community College System assessment team, the town hall meeting I conducted at the end of November, and the subsequent community surveys to shape the job description and articulate the leadership traits needed to advance ESCC.”
Dubois said the college “needs a president who will lead and appropriately respond to the challenges and opportunities that will define the next chapters of the college’s story.
The chancellor also extended his “appreciation for the contributions Dr. Billy Greer has made as ESCC’s interim president.”
