Mears Man Charged With Multiple Offenses

A Mears man was being held without bond in Accomack Jail this week after being charged with burglary, abduction, object sexual penetration, and sexual battery, according to records filed in Accomack General District Court.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for John William Johnston III, 66, of Cattail Road in Mears, on March 11. The incidents occurred Dec. 29, 2018. Deputy J. Sharp, of the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), investigated.
In another case, Jack Wesley Guemple, 22, of Bennett Street in Parksley, was charged with felony counts of possessing a Schedule I or II drug, maliciously shooting at an occupied building or dwelling, and maliciously discharging a firearm in a building. Guemple was also accused of misdemeanor counts of recklessly handling a firearm, brandishing a firearm, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The incidents occurred Dec. 23, 2018. Guemple is being held without bond. He was arrested Dec. 31, 2018. Deputy C. Hargis, of ACSO, investigated.
Warren Johnson, 18, of Winterville Road in Bloxom, is accused of possessing or using a sawed-off shotgun or rifle for an illegal purpose on Dec. 31, 2018. He was arrested Jan. 7. A secured bond of $5,000 was set. Deputy S. Lenhoff, of ACSO, investigated.
Accomack General District Court records showed April Lynn Pruitt. of Wallops Island, was charged with possession of a Schedule I or II drug on Dec. 27. She was arrested Dec. 28.
