Chincoteague Seafood Festival Slated for May 4

The annual seafood festival sponsored by the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce is set to begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 4, at Tom’s Cove Park Campground, and will include the usual delicious food, music, and arts and crafts.

A feast of littleneck steamed clams from island waters, clam chowder, steamed shrimp, single-fried oysters, fried fish, clam fritters, clam strips, grilled chicken, a raw bar of oysters and clams, a salad bar, sweet potato fries, boardwalk fries, hushpuppies, and cornbread will be offered at booths that circle picnic tables.

The band, Front Page News, of Salisbury, Md., will entertain from noon to 4 p.m.

Tickets are $45 each and are available at the chamber office at 6733 Maddox Boulevard Chincoteague, online at www.chincoteaguechamber.com or by calling 757- 336-6161. Gates open at 10 a.m. Appetizers will be available at 11 a.m. Seafood items will be served beginning at noon.

After the festival, the Museum of Chincoteague Island, on Maddox Boulevard, will hold a fundraiser featuring 5×5 artwork and delicious snacks.
