Ms. Pamela Jo Thornes Childress, 51, of Birdsnest and formerly Clam, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 8, 2019, following a battle with cancer.
She was born March 11, 1968, to the late Elton Thornes of Clam and the late Lottie Thornes Bullard of Cape Charles.
She is survived by her two daughters, Amber Thornes and Samantha Newby, and their families. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by six siblings and their families: Betty Jones, Herbert Thornes, Keith Thornes, Sandy Richardson, Sheila Smith, and Quinn Thornes. She was predeceased by four siblings: E.C. Thornes, Johnny Thornes, Valerie Elliot, and Woodrow Thornes.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Full Gospel Church in Cheriton on Saturday, July 13, at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow.
