Broadwater Academy got another win on the road last weekend Sept. 15, against the Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights. After a home loss that left the Vikings out gas in the second half, the Vikings conditioning was the focal point in practice with an emphasis on having a better balance between the run and pass on offense.

The Vikings unit struggled with the passing on offense advancing the ball into the Knights rezone three times in the first half but were unable to score. The pass was aborted and the Vikings offense reverted to the Power-I formation. The running formation worked well for the Vikings as Gunnar Gustafon exploded for 294 yards and four touchdowns on the day. Vikings head coach Eddie Spencer credits defensive coordinator Reid Hall and his defensive unit for the win, with a key interception by Wade Williams in the third quarter that turned the game in their favor.

This week the Vikings will travel to Chesapeake, Va., to face a speedy Atlantic Shores team on Sept. 20.
