Mr. Daniel Sanchez, 61, husband of Maria Elena Renteria Sanchez and a resident of Parksley, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. Born Sept. 28, 1958, in Wilkes Barre, Pa., and raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, he was a son of the late Francisco Bracero Sanchez Sr. and Santos Sepeda Sanchez.

Mr. Sanchez loved gardening and especially enjoyed cruising the Shore’s backroads, but family always remained the center of his world. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for those closest to him, and he never missed an opportunity to show his family how much he loved them. Adored by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, there was always fun and laughter when they were with their “Grandpa.” With his kind and gentle heart, Mr. Sanchez made an impression on all he encountered and was loved by so many throughout the community. His presence will be greatly missed and his memory forever cherished.

In addition to his loving wife of 32 years, he is survived by his children, Guadalupe, of Racine, Wis., Armando and Lisa, of San Antonio, Texas, Arnulfo, of Pasadena, Md., Elena and Camerino, of Parksley, Juliana, of Belle Haven, Rodolfo and Nikki, of Parksley, and Daniel and Andria, of Fishers, Ind.; nephew, Javier Cruz, of Parksley, who he raised as a son; brother, Francisco B. Sanchez Jr. and Sylvia, of Clewiston, Fla.; grandchildren, Antonio, Yesenia, Yvette, Amaya, Lucero, Abigail, Alayna, Briana, Mikayla, Jazmin, Kaitlyn, Madelyn, and Mikenna; great-grandchildren, Lorenzo, Dominic, and Mariana; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless friends. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Debbie and Petra Sanchez; and nieces, Nicomeris Sanchez and Melissa Cruz.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. J. Barton Weakley officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, in Onancock. There will be a visitation at the funeral home Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
