Mr. David Arthur Brunk, 81, husband of Judith Gabbard Brunk, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at Coastal Hospice in Salisbury, Md. He was born in Brooklyn, Md., Dec. 24, 1937, to Paul F. Brunk and Dorothy M. Lower Brunk. Other than his wife of 60 years, he is survived by a son, Russell D. Brunk and wife, Gina Brunk, of Jamesville; a daughter, Paula E. Burian and husband, Evzen Burian, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Brunk; a grandson, Walter D. Brunk; a granddaughter, Kasey L. Brunk; and a great-grandson, Cooper R. Brunk; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Paul F. Brunk Jr.; sister, Dorothy Ross; and son, John H. Brunk.

Mr. Brunk was a U.S. Navy veteran, building contractor, commercial fisherman, and skilled craftsman. After retirement, he spent most of his time in his woodshop making unique masterpieces and listening to country music all while enjoying his “Natty Boh” beer. He was an avid reader that loved all the little children who were in his life by way of family and friends. He was known to always offer a helping hand to anyone in need and was a humble and loving man to anyone he met.

A graveside service with military honors was conducted Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at Belle Haven Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Conrow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
