Anna “Frances” Simpson

Ms. Anna “Frances” Simpson, 87, resident of Onley, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Parksley. Born June 12, 1932, in Nelsonia, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. Stroud and Katheryne Butler Stroud.

As a faithful and active member of Baptist Bible Church in Accomac, Ms. Simpson’s love for the Lord was evident in all she did. She enjoyed cooking for others and was always first to volunteer her time and talents to help someone in need. With a stack of cards and photos at her side, Ms. Simpson spent hours praying for those near and far, from people within in her congregation to communities throughout the world. She proudly devoted her life in service to her Lord, a life that will continue to be an inspiration to those who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie White, of Accomac, and Connie Doughty, of Onancock; grandchildren, Tonya, Tiffany, J.J., James, and Dawson; four great-grandchildren; and her beloved church family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sons, John Roy Simpson Jr. and Ronald Wayne Simpson.

Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, with the Reverend Robert Fletcher officiating. Interment followed in the Parksley Cemetery.
