Mrs. Eula Strand Johnson, 98, of Onancock, departed this life Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at her residence.

Born in Onancock, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late George D. and Maggie White West. She was employed at the Colonial Manor, in Onancock, for 47 years. During that time, she worked for Mrs. Norman Horsey. Mrs. Johnson then moved to Washington, D.C., where she met and married her husband, Glen Johnson. After moving back to the Shore, she returned to work for the Manor until she retired. Once retired, Mrs. Johnson decided to work part-time for Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Evans and the Doughty Family.

Mrs. Johnson leaves to cherish her memories her seven children, Clinton Strand, Florine Giddings, Milton Strand, Pearl Smith, Barbara Joynes, George D. Strand, and Stanford Strand; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Wendell and Irvin West; a host of friends; and a special family, Jerry and June Evans.

Funeral services were held at Macedonia A.M.E. Church, Accomac, with the Rev. Sterling Powell officiating. Interment was in the Metropolitan Bayside Community Cemetery, Onancock.
