Mrs. Pauline Widgeon Lewis, 81, wife of Vernon A. Lewis and a resident of Cheriton, passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox. A native of Eastville, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Widgeon and the late Katherine Eder Widgeon. She was retired from Bayshore Concrete, a member of Cheriton Baptist Church, and loved gardening, fishing, cake decorating and rehabilitating injured animals.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a son, Gregory Hardesty, of Cheriton; a brother, Randolph Widgeon, of Willis Wharf; a sister, Fannie Belote, of Quinby; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service was conducted Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at Cape Charles Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Charles Peterson officiating. Memorials may be made to Cheriton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 227, Cheriton, VA 23316.
