Mrs. Alma Loraine Dean, 82, of Onancock, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019, at Shore Heath and Rehabilitation Center, Parksley. Born April 26, 1937, in Greensboro, Md., she was the daughter of the late Maud and Joseph White and Frederick Frase, and loving wife of the late Paul Kilmer Dean.

Mrs. Dean worked as a bookkeeper for Ginsberg, Nottingham, and Mapp for nearly three decades. She often placed the needs of others before her own and stopped at nothing to bring joy and happiness to those around her. She loved to go shopping, always finding the best deals and eagerly sharing with family and friends. As a mother of three boys, she was as tough as they came, and they knew they couldn’t get much past her. Mrs. Dean had the kindest of hearts, with a sense of humor and a contagious smile to match, all of which instantly made you feel at ease. Her affection and devotion to loved ones was unwavering and will be forever cherished.

She is survived by her sons, Paul “Kevin” Dean and wife, Kathy, of Pungoteague, Kurt Joseph Dean and fiancé, Jean, of Bloxom, and Kris David Dean and wife, Suzette, of Exmore; sisters, Ruth Thawley and husband, Bill, of Price, Md., and Judy Wright and husband, Glenn, of Denton, Md.; brother, James “Jimmy” Frase-White and partner, Chuck, of Vermont; grandchildren, Krystle Dean and Kevin Lee Dean; step-grandchildren, Ryan and Amanda Davis; step-great-grandson, Aiden Fitchett; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, John Frase.

Funeral services were conducted from the graveside at the Onancock Cemetery Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, with Pastor Wayne Hart officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please pay it forward by sharing kindness with others or helping someone in need, as Mrs. Dean did throughout her life.
