A Northampton County man died of his injuries late Monday after his vehicle struck a tractor-trailer near Exmore.
John Scott Webb, 50, of Franktown, was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Passat southbound on Route 13 when he ran off the road, struck the median, and hit a 2002 tractor-trailer head-on in the northbound lanes of the highway, according to Sgt. Michelle Anaya, Virginia State Police spokeswoman.
The crash happened north of Brickhouse Drive at around 10:13 p.m.
Webb was wearing his seatbelt and alcohol was not a contributing factor, according to Anaya.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
