Mrs. Phyllis Eileen Carter Dunn, 96, of Marionville, passed away at her residence Friday, Feb. 28, 2020. She was born in Clinchport, Va., to the late Horton Selba Carter and the late Etta Corna Spivey Carter. Her husband was the late Carl Rhea Dunn.
She was a retired school teacher, attended Red Bank Baptist Church for over forty years, and a member of Frances Jones Circle. Mrs. Dunn attended Radford College and graduated from Old Dominion University in 1968.
She is survived by two daughters, Glena Rhea Dunn Sisson and her husband, Richard, of Worcester, Mass., and Sammye Jo Dunn Daou and her husband, Fadi, of Richmond; one son, Phillip Horton Dunn and his wife, Annette, of Marionville; a niece, Marietta Carter Linde and her husband, Greg, of New Jersey; one nephew, Michael K. Pease, of Duffield, Va.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dunn was predeceased by a daughter, Greta Eileen Dunn Robertson; a son, Carl Rhea (Bus) Dunn Jr.; a brother, Sam Stuart Carter, of Willis Wharf; and a sister, Joan Carter Pease, of Duffield, Va.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Red Bank Baptist Church, Marionville, with the Rev. Dr. John M. Robertson officiating.
