Staff Report —
A house near Painter was destroyed by a fire late Saturday, May 22.
The alert came at around 9 p.m.
The first units to arrive at the scene on Harbor Lane found the large house fully involved and requested additional tankers. Additional water was drawn from the nearby creek to fight the blaze, according to a Facebook post by Tasley Vol. Fire Company.
No one was injured in the fire.
Fire companies from Painter, Melfa Wachapreague, Exmore, Onancock, Tasley, Nassawadox, Parksley and Bloxom, and the Accomack County Department of Public Safety responded to the blaze.
