Mr. Gordon Lee Ward Sr. passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2020, at the age of 84. Gordon Lee was born in Eastville, on Jan. 27, 1936, where he lived his entire life. In 1954, he married Lois Ann Nottingham, who he was married to for 53 years when she died in 2007.

Many of Gordon Lee’s working years were spent at Ward’s Body Shop and later at Doughty Ford and Elliott Automotive. Gordon Lee never met a stranger and developed many lasting friendships along the way. In his later years, he enjoyed spending his time working as a starter at Bay Creek Golf Course.

Gordon Lee enjoyed fishing and taking numerous boat trips on the Happy Times, Fat Cat, and the Playmate, golfing, and being what some would call a pool shark, spending many afternoons shooting pool in the back of the barbershop where he cut hair. Gordon Lee was a member of Saint Charles Catholic Church. For many years, he was a member of Exmore Moose Lodge, Eastville Volunteer Fire Co., Eastville Town Council, and Khedive Shriners. His most-enjoyed moments were spent with family, especially his children and grandchildren, friends, and he also loved the company of his granddogs, Sandi, Diva, and Bella.

Gordon Lee is survived by his son, Gordon Lee Ward Jr., and his wife, Wanda; his daughter, Lisa Ward Tiedemann, and her husband, Dan; four grandchildren, Jessica Robberecht (Dustin), Heather Bouchard (Louis), Haley Tiedemann, and T.R. Parks (Nicole); and six great-grandchildren, Schuyler, Johannes, Leila, Aria, Ryder, and Kayla.

Gordon Lee will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, from the graveside at Cape Charles Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Breslin officiating.
