Mrs. Julia Louise Thompson Lanman peacefully left this world to be in Heaven with Jesus and many of her loved ones on Sunday Sept. 20, 2020. She was surrounded by her son, Lester J. Lanman II, and her daughter-in-law, Karla D. Lanman.

Julia was born on Oct. 10, 1952, in Painter. She graduated from Central High School, where she cheered on the Bulldogs in her distinct accent “BullDUGS.”  She spent the past four years living with her husband, son, and family in Hummelstown, Pa.

On Jan. 1, 1977, she married Lester R. Lanman, the love of her life. They were happily married for 43 years.

You could often find Julia listening to Elvis and Il Volo, who she kindly referred to as “her boys.” During the day she spent countless hours laughing with her husband, doing word searches, and talking with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Julia was a lover of seafood, T-bone steaks, and her new favorite – hibachi.

She is survived by her husband, Lester R. Lanman; son, Lester J. Lanman II; daughter-in-law, Karla D. Lanman; granddaughters, Janessa A. Lanman and Morgan S. Chiara; grandsons, Logan M. Chiara and Conner B. Lanman; sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Caroline Piper, and Edna Guill; brother, Roland Thompson; brother-in-law, Brady Piper; and sister-in-law, Jane Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Julia Thompson; her brothers, Sonny, Arthur, Robert, Buddy, and Billy Ray Thompson; and her sister, Mary Virginia Thompson.

A private viewing was held Tuesday Sept. 22, 2020, and a scattering of her ashes will be held Oct. 3, 2020, in Eastville.
