Mrs. Patricia Leigh “Patty” Thomson, 67, formerly of Deerfoot Road in Melfa, went to the arms of her Lord on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, while holding the hand of her dear husband, Dan. She had been fighting a brave and stout battle with her health for some time and the last months were very challenging for her and the family.

Born Patricia Cramer on Feb. 18, 1953, on Long Island, N.Y., to Mildred Hahlbohm and Edward Cramer, she moved to the Eastern Shore in the 1980s, then to Florida in 1998, where she married Daniel Thomson, before returning to Melfa. Her failing health required a better environment than could be found on the Shore, so she moved back to Florida to receive better care, in January 2020.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her son, Sean E. Smith, daughter-in-law, Jenna LaCour, and granddaughter, Sydney Smith, in Melfa; her brother, Gary F. Cramer, sister-in-law, Debra Cramer, and nephew, Chantz Cramer, in Loxahatchee, Fla.; stepchildren, Justin Thomson and his wife, Mariana, grandson, Mateo, and granddaughter, Emilia, in Denver, Colo., Dr. Kelsey Carriere, her husband, Casey, and grandson, Charlie, in Cincinnatti, Ohio, and Daniel Thomson Jr., his wife, Kady, and grandson, Colton, in Deltona, Fla.

She will be remembered fondly for the love and joy she held for her grandkids, all of her animals, and especially her horses.

A memorial service will be planned at a future date when friends and family can congregate safely to celebrate her wonderful spirit. Donations to her memorial fund are linked to her Facebook page and are requested in lieu of flowers.
