Mr. Carl Donnelly Nesensohn III, 65, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at his home in Northside Chesconnessex. Born June 28, 1955, in Amityville, N.Y., he was the only child of the late Carl D. Nesensohn Jr. and Florence Atkiss Nesensohn.

A native of Amityville, Carl, and his wife, Sylke, moved to Maine soon after they were married to be closer to his parents while raising their children. In 2006, they relocated to the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Most recently, Carl worked as a mechanic for Davis Wharf Marine Service, and later, for Cape Charles Marine. As an antique car and firearm enthusiast, Carl’s mechanical skills went well beyond marine repair, often working on cars and trucks, and occasionally testing his gunsmith talents. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Carl is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sylke Nesensohn; their children, Carl D. Nesensohn IV of Longmont, Colo., and Liesel Nesensohn of the home; sister-in-law, Karen Tyrie; and his best friend, Charlie Tyrie, and their families.

A memorial service will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Wayne Asbury officiating.

Contributions in Carl’s memory may be made to the Foodbank of the Eastern Shore, P.O. Box 518, Onley, VA 23418.

Memory tributes may be shared with the family at www.williamsfuneralhomes.com.

Arrangements are by the Williams Funeral Homes, Onancock and Parksley.
