Mr. Edward M. Parker, 82, of Accomac, departed this life on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, at Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Nassawadox, with his family by his side.

Born in Keller, Edward was the son of the late Wilbur Hatney and the late Recie Parker. He was raised by his loving grandparents, Major and Lucille Parker. He was affectionately known as “Ed” by his beloved late wife, “Daddy” by his children, and “Grandpop” by his grandchildren. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Hazel Drummond, on Aug. 18, 1954. He was employed by Accomack County Public Schools as a custodian for 25 years before he retired. Additionally, he worked part-time as a barber. He began cutting hair out of his home, then later moved to Ed’s Barbershop in Accomac in the early 1970s.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at Nedab Cemetery in Daugherty, with the Rev. Fred Crawley officiating.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: three sons, Edward Parker Jr., Gregory Parker, and Clayfort Parker; one daughter, Gwen Dorn; 11 grandchildren, one whom he was instrumental in rearing, Deametrious Bagwell; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Parker; one sister, Mattie; a sister-in-law whom he reared, Betty Fletcher; special cousins, William and Barry Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
