It is with great sadness that the Kellam family announces the death of Mr. Curtis Kellam, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, in Pompano Beach, Fla., after a long and courageous battle with leukemia at the age of 72. Born in Nassawadox and reared in Onancock, Curtis was the son of the late Melvin Curtis Kellam and the late Hilda Kellam.
Following graduation from Onancock High School, Curtis moved to Pompano Beach in 1968 where he met the love of his life, Sandra, to whom he was married in 1972. Curtis worked in the elevator business and has been a long-standing member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 71 in Miami, Fla. Curtis enjoyed all sports such as hunting, golf, and softball, of which he won many trophies.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Sandra, of nearly 50 years; their son, Spencer; brothers, Bruce and Thomas Kellam; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, to include his cousin, Doris Collins, who was more like a sister.

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Bobby Parks officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Holly Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
