Mr. Patrick James Johnson, 44, of Horntown, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Md. Born July 27, 1976, in Nassawadox, he was the son of Patricia Burdette (Pony), of Mears, and the late Richard James Johnson.
As a longtime Eastern Shore waterman, Patrick loved being outdoors, whether it was for work or play. His greatest passion was muddin‘. Nothing brought him more joy than days spent with his children and the Boondock MudSlingers kicking up some mud. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was grateful to have found his way back to the Lord. Patrick lived for his children, always going above and beyond to ensure they knew how very much he loved them.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, Patrick is survived by his wife, Cari Lynn Johnson; his children, Richard James “Ricky” Johnson and his wife, Hollie, of Bloxom, Taylor Marie Gardner, of Horntown, Warren Scott “Pooter” Johnson, of Bloxom, and Kylie Lynn Johnson and Bristol Lynn Johnson, both of Horntown; sister, Patricia Voss, and her husband, Joshua, of Mears; paternal grandfather, James R. Johnson, of Parksley; grandchildren, Kailynn Marie Gardner, Riley Grace Johnson, and Piper Dawn Johnson; niece, Alanna Woods; nephew, Asher Voss; many extended family members; and countless friends. Other than his father, he was predeceased by his first wife, Angie Dawn Johnson, who was the loving mother of his three eldest children.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Edgehill Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Mark Layne officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Williams Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Parksley, VA 23421, to assist with funeral expenses.
