Mrs. Viola Handy Williams, 59, of Bloxom, received eternal life Friday, April 16, 2021, at Riverside Shore Memorial in Onancock.
Born in Nassawadox, Viola was the beloved daughter of the late John Henry Ayres and the late Ann Handy. Viola worked at Arcadia Nursing Center until their closing. She was lovingly nicknamed by her brothers, “Tilley.” She was married to her soulmate, Gregory T. Williams Sr., for 43 years.
Private graveside services were held Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Bloxom, with the Rev. Tamela P. Wise officiating.
She leaves her love and fond memories to her husband, Gregory T. Williams Sr.; children, Lashonda Handy, Shacana Handy, Gregory T. Williams Jr., and Tanhia Handy; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Thelma Holden, Larry Handy Sr., Shirley Lilliston, Mae Davis, Henry Handy, Sadra Bailey, Donnie Ayres, Bonnie Hinmon, and Vana Dennis; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; special friend, Ella Benn; and a host of other relatives and friends.
