Vikings Host Track and Field Relays on the Grass

Last Saturday, May, 1 the Broadwater Vikings hosted their only home meet of the 2021 season in Exmore. The three-team meet featured teams from Holly Grove Christian and Atlantic Shores Christian and was won by Broadwater. The Lady Vikings racked up 186 points while the boys team won with 170 points.

Top individual results from each event for the boys include: Gunnar Gustafson, first in the long jump with 18 feet, 4 inches; first in the high jump with 5 feet, 2 inches; first in the discus with 98 feet, 1 inch; and first in the pole vault with 11 feet, 6 inches; and a second place finish in the shot put with 32 feet, 11 inches.

Top individual results from each event in the girl’s division were: Rylee Coates first in the long jump with 14 feet, 3.5 inches; first in the triple jump with 34 feet, 11.75 inches; and first in the pole vault with 7 feet. Leah Smith first place in the high jump with 4 feet, 4 inches and second place in the discus with 55 feet, 1 inch.

Top relay results for the boys include a first-place finish in the 4×100 relay with a time of 53.7 seconds and a second-place finish in the 1600 sprint medley relay with a time of 4:41. Top relay results for the girls include a first-place finish in the 4×400 with a time of 6:11, a second-place finish in the 4×100 with a time of 1:04, and a second-place finish in the 1600 sprint medley relay with a time of 6:08.
