In a league of their own, the Nandua Warriors roster boasts eight players from the Senior Little League team that won the 2019 Southeast Region and advanced to the Little League World Series.

Brandon Adamos, Tyler Greene, Dylan Marshall, Jacob Melihammer, Luke Parks, Dylan Ross, Everett Savage, and Cade Williams have transcended that experience into this year’s remarkable season. The Nandua baseball team has now distinguished themselves as the top dog in the district, as the team is now 5-0 with four shutouts in a row.

The Warriors have used a stable of pitchers to keep their district opponents at bay as they’ve outscored district teams 30 to 1. The Warriors ooze talent and experience that would have made a splash on the state level last year had the season not been canceled due to COVID-19. It’s no surprise to anyone who followed that 2019 senior team that this Warrior squad has yet to play more than five innings in a game this year. These players look to sweep the district with only three games left as they try to hone their skills, eliminate mistakes, and avoid getting too comfortable before the regional playoffs.

Ripken Robbins got the start for Nandua. He pitched four innings striking out eight batters and allowed only one hit.

The Warriors hosted the Arcadia Firebirds on Tuesday, May 18, defeating them for the second time 16-0. Ripken Robbins got the start and allowed only one hit as he struck out eight batters through four innings against one walk. Jacob Melihammer relieved Robbins in the fifth, closing the game with three strikeouts against two walks. The duo combined pitched a no-hitter the last time the two teams met May 4.

Everett Savage led at bat going 2 for 3 with a double, three RBIs, and a home run in the second inning. Luke Parks followed going 3 for 3 recording a double, triple, a steal, and three RBIs. Brandon Adamos went 3 for 4 recording a double and two RBIs.

Nandua will host Chincoteague for Senior Night next week, Tuesday, May 25, at 4:30 p.m.
