Barnes’ Pitching Fuels Arcadia Win

Behind another stellar outing on the mound from Nathan Barnes, the Arcadia Firebirds evened their record at 3-3, beating Chincoteague 9-3. Barnes earned his second win of the season, going six innings, allowing only two hits and three walks, while striking out 15 batters.

At the plate the Firebirds managed nine runs while only connecting on three hits. As a team, they drew 11 walks, with Barnes leading the way with three free passes. Armonte Dickerson had two of the Firebirds’ three hits, with one powerful single all the way to the base of the centerfield fence on the fly. Dickerson had four RBIs for the game. William Rantz had the Firebirds’ third hit and scored a run.

The Ponies’ offense was led by Marcelo Rosanova, who went 3-4 with a double and an RBI. Wyatt Revel also added a double and RBI. Logan Richardson took the loss for Chincoteague.
