The Nandua Warriors played the Chincoteague Ponies this week May 25 in Onley. Senior Night was a night of sixes as the Warriors recorded their sixth shut out of the season while recognizing the six seniors who will retire after the season ends. Bryan Greene, Dylan Marshall, Lucas Parks, Dylan Ross, Everett Savage, and Cade Williams were all honored and recognized prior to the game as they played their last regular season game in Onley as Warriors.

The night of six was expanded as the Warriors entered the sixth inning for the first time this season in the 10-0 victory. Cade Williams got the start for Nandua recording the win after pitching five innings, striking out 11 batters against one walk. Dylan Marshall led at bat going 1 for 2 with a double and RBI, Cade Williams went 1 for 2 with a RBI, and Luke Parks went 2 for 2 at bat with two steals. The Warriors are 7-0 and will play Arcadia next, May 27, in Oak Hall.

Senior Cade Williams is credited with the win and shut out after pitching five innings and striking out 11 batters.

The Ponies’ pitchers had a wobbly night, hitting a handful of batters as they tried to zone in on their pitching spots. Freshman Marcello Rosanova got the start and the loss pitching two innings and allowing two runs. Wyatt Revell relieved Rosanova in the third and pitched one inning letting up two hits and three runs before turning the ball over to Logan Richardson. Richardson pitched the final two innings and allowed five runs.

Ayden Leonard led at the plate for Chincoteague going 2 for 3 including a double. Marcello Rosanova was the only other batter to record a hit.
