Mrs. Polly A. Parker, 86, of Parksley, was called home to take her final rest on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at her residence, after an extended illness.

Born in Keller, Polly was the beloved daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Magdaline Bailey. She was affectionately known as “Ms. Polly” by her family and friends. She worked as a housekeeper and at Perdue Farms in Accomac for over 20 years.

On Jan. 16, 1953, Polly married the Elder Fred Parker Jr. (now deceased). They shared 58 years of marital bliss, until his passing in 2011.

Private funeral services were held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Glorious Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Onancock, with Bishop R.W. Hill officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Onancock.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Michael Parker; three daughters, Betty Miles, Pamela Johnson, and Pauline Parker; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Bishop R.W. Hill; daughter-in-law, Bessie Parker; special friend, Edward “Dixie” Gunter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
