Mrs. Dorothy Kilmon Mitchell, 98, wife of the late Robert Thomas Mitchell and a resident of Exmore, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021, at The Citadel Nassawadox. A native of Painter, she was the daughter of the late Edwin S. Kilmon and the late Mary Grace Gladden Kilmon. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Melfa.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Mitchell Darnell and her husband, Robert, of Richmond, and Jean Mitchell Parks, of Exmore; one sister, Janis K. Killmon, of Exmore; four grandchildren, Catherine Lopez, Robert Darnell, Justin Parks, and Andrew Parks; eight great-grandchildren, Megan, Taylor, Will, Zachary, Robert, Katilyn, Jase, and Jayden; and three great-great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kayden, and Camryn. She was predeceased by her sister, Annabelle Stith, and son-in-law, Donnie B. Parks.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 23, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Doughty Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Madron officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 473, Melfa, VA 23410.
