Mrs. Otis O. Strand, 86, of Greenbush, transitioned from the arms of her daughter unto the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at her residence.
Born in Parksley, Otis was the daughter of the late Viola Y. and James H. Finney, and Jesse Spratley. She was a member of Macedonia AME Church in Accomac and served on many boards. On April 2, 1950, Otis married the love of her life, Paul “Bill” Strand.
For years, Otis and Bill traveled to Florida with the Smiths. In later years, she became a private duty caregiver and fell in love with many patients and their families.
Private graveside services were held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Accomac.
Otis leaves to cherish her memories: six children, Diane Cooper, Deloise “Dee” Hall, Dornecil “Necie” Parks, Kelvin Strand, Keith Strand, and Kurt Strand; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; one aunt; longtime friend, Marguerite Parks; many telephone buddies; and a host of other family and friends.
Arrangements are by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
