Mr. Floyd Earl Johnston, 57, of Accomac, passed away peacefully Aug. 6, 2021, at his home.

Born Feb. 19, 1964, in Great Falls, Mont., he was the son of Annie Ellen Johnston and the late Harold Leroy Johnston. Floyd was a graduate of Onancock High School, Thomas Nelson Community College, and Eastern Shore Community College. He formerly worked as a machinist for Seaman’s and the Newport News Shipyard, and later as a CADD technician for Shore Engineering. He currently owned and operated his business, A1 Fix It Services. He enjoyed saltwater fishing in the Chesapeake Bay; loved music, family, friends, and his dog Tater.

Other than his mother, Floyd is survived by two sisters, Debra Ann Smith and Virginia Lee Johnston-Nickel; nieces, Lori Ann Krause and Jessica Wilson; nephew, Ben Wilson; great-niece, Juliana Krause; great-nephews, Logan and Jaxon Krause, and Jay Buck.

Other than his father, Floyd was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Ida Johnston, and Floyd Sr. and Ethel Custis.

There was a graveside service Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, at 2 p.m., in Edgehill Cemetery in Accomac.

Family and friends are welcome to stop by his mom’s house on School Street to reminisce following the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Eastern Shore SPCA.

Arrangements are by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.
