Mr. Thomas W. Roberts Sr., 73, of Greenbush, after several months of declining health, peacefully entered into eternal rest at St Mary’s Hospital, Richmond, with his beloved wife, Pat Roberts, their three children, and his brother by his side on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021.

Born in Accomac, Thomas was the son of the late Leander and Edith Roberts Sr. He was affectionately known as “Tommy” by his family and friends. After graduation from Mary N. Smith High School, he attended Norfolk State College for three years.

On Oct. 12, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Hall Roberts. This union was blessed with three children. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served for 26 years and retired with the rank of staff sergeant. After retiring from the military, he worked for the Department of Commerce until his retirement in 2012.

Private funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, at Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Sherri L. Brooks officiating. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Accomac.

Tommy leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife of 52 years, Pat Roberts; daughter, Kecia Roberts-Warner; two sons, Thomas Roberts Jr. and Bryant Roberts; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Leander Roberts Jr.; special cousin, Pauline C. “Sweetie Pie” Bundick; five sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; special nieces, Laneen, Tonya, Orchell, and Raquel; and a number of other family and friends.

Arrangements are by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
