Mrs. Barbara A. Wright, of Onancock, departed this life Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.
Born in Exmore, Barbara was the daughter of the late Booker Murphy and the late Corine Taylor. She was affectionately known as “Bobann” by her family and friends and “Little Bobann” by her co-workers. Barbara was employed at Perdue Farms and dedicated 25 years of service before changing careers. She later became a dietary aide at a local nursing home.
On May 7, 2005, Barbara married her friend and soulmate, Jerry Wright Sr. They were blessed with 16 years of love and friendship.
Private graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Snead’s Memorial U.M. Church Cemetery, Keller, with Pastor Diane Wright officiating.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Jerry Wright Sr.; sons, Anthony Beckett and Troy Hill; stepsons, Jerry Wright Jr. and Deon Walker; stepdaughters, Ashley Bishop, Latoya Wright, and Jennifer Walker; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Ramos, Phyllis Smith, and Emma Nock; brothers, Booker Murphy and Bruce Murphy; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
