Staff Report —
The Virginia State Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that has resulted in a fatality and temporarily closed U.S. Route 13.
According to a press release and Virginia 511, the crash occurred at approximately 5:15 a.m. today, Oct. 6, at the 28200 block of Lankford Highway on the Eastern Shore, about 6 miles south of Stone Road, near Townsend Drive.
Southbound Route 13/Lankford Highway is currently shut down, and VDOT is assisting to reroute traffic.
Troopers are on the scene investigating. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
