Mr. Charlie C. White, of Withams, departed this life to eternal life Oct. 4, 2021, at his residence.
Born in Withams, Charlie was the son of the late Charlie “Buddy” Abbott and the late Delois “Sis” White Washington. Charlie was affectionately known as “Wo-Wo” or “Woochie.” After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Army. Charlie also worked at Holly Farms, Perdue, and his most recent employment was at Bel Art in Pocomoke City, Md.
In his mid 20s, Charlie met the love of his life, Barbara Rue-White, now deceased. The two were together for over 37 years and during that period were joined in holy matrimony.
Private funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Richard Holland officiating. Interment was in the St. Joseph Holiness Church Cemetery, Atlantic.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his two daughters, Chela and Tiffany Rue; siblings, Rita Matthews, Stephen Byrd, Edward White, Valestine W. Northam, and Yvonne Norville; stepbrothers, Gregory Washington, Calvin Washington, Tony Washington, and Devon Washington; stepsister, Diane Washington; one uncle; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
