Lady Firebirds Fall to Yellow Jackets

The Northampton Yellow Jackets  faced the Arcadia Firebirds Thursday, Oct. 14. They won 3-0.

The first set was a close contest. The Firebirds showed a lot of poise and responded to every Yellow Jacket point with a series of stellar serves and returns. Midway through the match, the score was tied at 13, but momentum eventually swung back into the Yellow Jackets’ favor. They won 25-17.

The Yellow Jackets dominated the second set, winning 25-6, and the Firebirds responded by coming out strong in the third set. They built an early 10-3 lead, and then the Yellow Jackets climbed back into the game to tie the score at 14. Several lead changes followed until the Yellow Jackets closed out the set 25-22.

For Northampton, Jacqueline Maldonado had 11 aces, seven kills, and 10 digs. Lyeric Brickhouse had one ace, eight kills, one block, and two digs. Mallory Hook had one ace, one kill, and six digs. Payton Mullaly had two aces and seven digs. Mariah Matthews had three aces, two kills, and four digs. Kaylei Brady had one ace, one kill, and five digs. Peyton Sayers had two kills and one block. Jada Crockett had two kills and two digs. Ta’Nyah Tankard had one block.

For Arcadia,  Christabelle Williams had three aces, three kills, and four digs. Jayda Tull had three aces, one kill, and four digs. Logan Stapleton had two aces. Savannah McDonald had two aces, eight kills, and one dig. Stephanie Williams had one ace and two digs. Kaylee Lamberson had one ace and one dig. Lacy Barlow had two kills and four digs. Bailey Wallace had two kills.
