Mrs. Shirley D. Edmonds, of New Church, transitioned from this life Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock.

Born in Keller, Shirley was the beloved daughter of the late Charles T. Vinnie Sr. and the late Christine P. Vinnie. She was reared from an infant by her uncle and aunt, the late John L. Parker Jr. and the late Gladys C. Parker. Throughout the years, she worked at several restaurants and was employed at McDonald’s for 10 years. Shirley was united in holy matrimony to George T. Edmonds Sr. (deceased).

Private graveside services were held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Painter, with Elder Orlando Estevez officiating.

Shirley leaves loving memories to be cherished by her son, Anthony Veney; four sisters, Barbara Boggs, Bessie V. Stevens, Joyce P. Bailey, and Sandra P. Sheppard; four brothers, Charles Vinnie Jr., George Vinnie III, Wayne Kellam, and John Parker III; one stepson, Kara Edmonds; three stepdaughters, Virginia Edmonds, Gladys Edmonds, and Sandy Thomas; one sister-in-law; goddaughter, Vanessa B. Harris; foster son, John Reynolds; one aunt; one special niece; and a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, her church family, and friends.

Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
