Mr. Larry L. Handy Sr., of Bloxom, departed this life Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, at his residence.
Born in Accomack County, Larry was the beloved son of John H. and Ann Handy Ayres. He was affectionately known as “Big Larry” or “Earthworm” by his family and friends. Larry was a hardworking man that worked countless jobs to provide for his family until he retired from Tyson Foods in 2012.
Private funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Tamela P. Wise officiating. Interment was in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Bloxom.
Larry leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Shirley Toppin; three sons, Larry Handy Jr., Xavier Toppin, and Zacchues Toppin; seven grandchildren; six sisters, Thelma Holden, Vana Dennis, Bonnie Hinmon, Sandra Bailey, Mae Davis, and Shirley Lilliston; two brothers, Henry Handy and Donnie Ayres; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; best friend, Randy Clayton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
