Mr. J. Larry Hamblin, 81, husband of the late Virginia Robinson Hamblin, and a resident of Willis Wharf, passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at his home. A native of Willis Wharf, he was the son of the late James E. Hamblin and the late Mabel Bell Hamblin. He was a retired waterman. Larry was the founder of the FHA Hunt Club and a member of the Exmore Moose Lodge 683.

He is survived by three children, Carole H. van Kleef and her husband, John, of Parksley, Deborah H. Linton and her husband, Jeffrey, of Columbia, S.C., and John L. Hamblin Jr., of Willis Wharf; three grandchildren, Maury van Kleef and his wife, Mary Lacen, of Parksley, Richard Linton, of Irmo, S.C., and Jonathan Linton, of Irmo; and his sister, Faye H. Sturgis, and her husband, Gordon, of Exmore. Larry was predeceased by his brother, Winford Hamblin.

Graveside services were conducted, Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Belle Haven Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Family received friends Sunday, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
