Mr. Lilton Upshur, 81, of Exmore, transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at the Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.
Born in Marionville, Lilton was the son of the late James Bailey and the late Cora L. Upshur. He was affectionately known as “Lilt” or “Smoovy” by his family and friends. After graduating from high school, he began his lifelong profession as a truck driver. He drove for over 40 years until his health failed.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at the chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with Evangelist Terrence Campbell officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Franktown.
Left to cherish his loving memories are: his wife, Kwi Upshur; children, Dorinda, Lizzie, Latasha, Lamaine, Wanda, Shanell, and Yuh-Mey; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary and Louise; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
